A RICHER LENS (ARL) is a
one year old privately held entertainment company with operations
in the UK, UAE and in India. ARL conceptualizes, develops and produces
content for film for two distinct markets - India and the World.
ARL works in partnership with people and organizations to create
entertainment content. To accomplish our mission, we produce and
acquire content that meet the highest standards of communication
and cultural expression within a specified budget and a specific
timeline.
AVANTIKA HARI
Born in India, brought up in the Middle East and educated in the
US and UK, Avantika Hari won the Commonwealth VIsion Award in 2006
for her short film “Hat Day”.
A Dean’s Merit scholar, she graduated with a double major
in Digital Arts and Economics from Stetson University Florida in
2002. She then managed her own multimedia consulting firm while
studying Creative Writing and Filmmaking at Stanford University
in California.
Avantika has created content for a variety of media, including a
60 episode series for radio about a newly married couple called
“Sahil and Suchitra”, an interactive web based art project
called “Dream for a Moment: Create Utopia”, corporate
videos for some of Dubai’s biggest companies and a variety
of video art pieces. She writes on her blog about her film and about
the independent filmmaking process. Land Gold Women is her first
feature film. Avantika wrote the story of LGW, while doing her MA
in Filmmaking at the London Film School in 2004. Her education and
upbringing in different parts of the globe helped tremendously in
crafting a story that weighed both Eastern and Western sensibilities.
VIVEK AGRAWAL
Vivek Agrawal has been associated with the Indian Film Industry
for over fifteen years in various capacities - Production Assistant,
Production Manager, Line Producer, Executive Producer, Assistant
Cameraman, 1st AD, Associate Director, Casting Director, Visual
Effects Director, Post Production Supervisor, Producer and Director.
He started his career in 1994 with Flicks Motion Picture Company.
Over the next three years he worked on over 200 commercials in various
capacities in production and direction. During this period he worked
on a few music videos and a 90 minute docu-drama ‘Mamuliram,’
as a 2nd AD under Rakeysh
Omprakash Mehra (Aks, Rang De Basanti, Delhi-6).
He then joined Ashok Mehta, India’s leading Director of Photography
(Bandit Queen, 36 Chowringhee Lane, Making of Mahatma) and started
producing Ad-Films under his company Ashok Mehta Visuals Pvt Ltd.
He produced over 100 commercials over the next 6 years and also
produced the film Moksha – The Salvation, directed by Ashok
Mehta, under his banner. The Film went on to win 2 National Awards.
He has worked under various capacities as Visual Effects Director,
Post Production Supervisor and Line Producer on numerous feature
films like Gaja Gamini, Aakhen, Chalte Chalte, Mehbooba, Dr Ambedkar
and Hum Kissi Se Kam Nahin and God Tussi Great Ho.
From August 2003 for a year and a half, he worked on the bilingual
film, Kisna – The Warrior Poet, produced by Mukta Arts, and
directed by Subhash Ghai as the Associate Director and Visual Effects
Director.
In 2004, he set up the pre-production and budget for Rang de Basanti,
a film produced by UTV and Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra and directed
by Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra.
Vivek was the Indian Casting Director in 2005 for Sharpe Challenges,
a British Television Series/Drama, starring Sean Bean, directed
by veteran English director Tom Clegg and produced by Malcolm Craddock.
The British Casting Director of Sharpe is John Hubbard (Elizabeth,
Four Feathers, Da Vinci Code).
In 2005 he Line-Produced ‘Meridian’ an English film
produced by Angad Paul of A.V Pictures, UK. The film was shot over
30 days on various locations in Mumbai.
Vivek released his Maiden Directorial Venture – ‘I SEE
YOU’ in December 2006, a Hindi film produced by Arjun and
Mehr Rampal under the banner of Chasing Ganesha Films, shot in London
and India. The film was shot over a period of 36 days.
Vivek was the Indian Line Producer for the British Feature Film
‘The World Unseen,’ shot in South Africa in 2007 and
directed by Shamim Sharif.
In 2007 Vivek colllaborated with NFDC (Mumbai) and helped them with
initial pre-production and the setting up of their Malyalam Feature
Film - Lucky Red Seeds. The film was directed by debutant Anjali
Menon.
In 2007-08 Vivek co-produced Hindi feature film ‘Victory’
along with Ajitpal Mangat. Apart from Indian actors it stars 30
current cricket players from all across the world playing themselves
in the film. It has been shot in Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka
and India.
In 2008-09 he produced the English feature on honour killing called
‘Land Gold Women,’ shot in England with a British cast
and crew. The film was executed on a tight budget of USD 1 Million
and shot over 4 weeks (24 days).
Vivek is now writing and developing two scripts, “Game Over”
and “The Marriage Market” to be produced in 2010.
